The University of Louisville track and field team will have eight athletes compete this week at the 2022 NCAA Division I Outdoor Track and Field Championships at Oregon's Hayward Field from June 8-11.
The eight entries are the most since the Cardinals advanced a program-record 12 in 2009.

Roth will be the first Cardinal to compete on Wednesday when he takes part in the men's pole vault at 8:00 pm. ET. He advanced to his first NCAA Outdoor Championships after clearing a height of 5.29m (17-4.25) at the NCAA East Region Preliminary Round. He surpassed the men's pole vault outdoor school record and earned All-ACC first team honors with a second-place height of 5.33m (17-5.75) at the ACC Championships.
Jeremiah Willis is also set to compete on Wednesday in the men's long jump at 9:00 p.m. ET. On his final attempt of the first round, Willis posted the third-best mark of the men's long jump field with a personal-best of 7.91m (25-11.5) to advance to the national meet for the first time. The All-ACC first-team honoree's top mark ranks as the second-best performance in Louisville's outdoor history.
Gabriela Leon and Aliyah Welter cleared a height of 4.31m (14-1.75) at the NCAA East Region Preliminary Round to advance to the women's pole vault finals on Thursday at 9:00 p.m. ET. The mark of 4.31m (14-1.5) was the second highest of Welter's outdoor career to advance to her second straight trip to Eugene, while Leon will compete at her third NCAA Outdoor Championships. Leon's season-best bar of 4.61m (15-1.5) at the Clark Wood Invitational stands as the women's pole vault outdoor school record, top height in the ACC, second in the nation, second-best all-time ACC women's outdoor pole vault mark and eighth-best all-time outdoor performer mark in collegiate history. She has won ACC Women's Field Performer of the Week three times this season.
Synclair Savage will take part in her first NCAA Outdoor Championships in the women's long jump on Thursday at 10:00 p.m. ET. Savage earned her qualification after recording the fifth-best mark of the field with a jump of 6.32m (20-9) at the NCAA East Region Preliminary Round. She secured the women's long jump title and earned All-ACC first-team honors with a wind-aided best of 6.65m (21-10) at the ACC Championships. In addition to her title, she set the women's long jump outdoor school record with a mark of 6.44m (21-1.5) at the Indiana Invitational.
Katie Martin concludes the second day of competition on Thursday with the women's 400-meter hurdles semifinals at 10:30 p.m. ET. Martin advances to her first NCAA Outdoor Championships with a quarterfinals time of 57.93 seconds to clinch her place as a time qualifier. The time is the second-fastest the current school record holder has posted in her collegiate career.
Trey Allen opens the men's field events on Friday in the men's high jump at 8:30 p.m. ET. Allen notched a height of 2.18m (7-1.75) in the preliminary round to return to Eugene for the second straight season. The redshirt sophomore clinched the men's high jump title and earned All-ACC first-team honors with the same height at the ACC Championships.
Adar Sheere will follow shortly after in the men's discus throw at 8:35 p.m. ET. On his first attempt, Sheere earned his ticket to his third consecutive NCAA Outdoor Championships with the fifth-farthest throw of the men's discus field at 57.32m (188-1) in Bloomington. The heave was the second best mark of the season for Sheere.
