The second-ranked Boston College men's hockey team completed a weekend sweep over No. 5 Maine, defeating the Black Bears by a score of 3-0 on Sunday afternoon at Kelley Rink.

BC improves to 7-1-0 overall and 2-0-0 in Hockey East, while Maine drops to 6-2-1 overall and 3-2-1 in league play.

Jacob Fowler (Melbourne, Fla.) was a commanding presence all afternoon between the pipes, posting a 26-save shutout.

After a scoreless opening period, the Eagles tallied the first goal of the afternoon midway through the second frame. BC forced a turnover in its defensive zone and Gabe Perreault (Hindsale, Ill.) immediately passed the puck through the neutral zone to Ryan Leonard (Amherst, Mass.). Leonard skated around, finding the right spot before putting home the wrist shot from the point.

Andre Gasseau (Garden Grove, Calif.) scored twice in the third period, with his first goal coming midway through the period. Gasseau capitalized on a Maine turnover in their own defensive zone, taking the puck and going top shelf for his second goal of the weekend. The junior added an insurance goal in the final few seconds with an empty net goal.
