A total of 17 former Boston College men's hockey players have earned a spot on NHL Opening Night rosters for the 2024-25 season.

Alex Tuch was the first Eagle to make an appearance in the NHL this season as the Buffalo Sabres opened their campaign this past Friday and Saturday against the New Jersey Devils in Prague as part of the NHL Global Series.

Skating for new teams this season are Cam Atkinson (Tampa Bay), Brian Dumoulin (Anaheim) and Kevin Hayes (Pittsburgh). Jack McBain will be suiting for the new expansion franchise, Utah Hockey Club.

When he makes his debut, Will Smith will become the 89th Eagle to play in the NHL.

The Eagles are tied with Boston University for the most in Hockey East and sit second in the NCAA behind Michigan (26).
