Texas State junior linebacker Sione Tupou has been named the Sun Belt Conference Defensive Player of the Week after recording a career-high and game-high 14 tackles in Texas State's 33-31 quadruple overtime victory over South Alabama last Saturday night. Tupou also forced and recovered a fumble to help the Bobcats win the game.
