Oklahoma’s Kennedy Brooks (offensive), Gabe Brkic (special teams) and Caleb Williams (newcomer) were joined by TCU’s Tre'Vius Hodges-Tomlinson (defensive) as Big 12 football award winners for week six. Brooks picked up his fourth career honor while Brkic was selected for the second time this season. Williams and Hodges-Tomlinson were recognized for the first time.

In his first start of the season, Brooks rushed 25 times for a career-high 217 yards (8.7 per carry) and scored Oklahoma's final two touchdowns as the Sooners rallied from a 28-7 first-quarter deficit and a 41-23 hole with 2:45 remaining in the third quarter for a 55-48 win over No. 21 Texas. His 217 rushing yards were OU's most in 36 games and fourth-most ever against Texas. The redshirt junior registered a 65-yard run in the third quarter, the longest by an OU running back this season. He gave OU its first lead of the day (48-41) with 7:10 remaining in the fourth quarter on an 18-yard run and scored the game-winning touchdown with three seconds to go on a 33-yard rush. It was the highest-scoring game in series history. Brooks now has 10 career 100-yard rushing games and six with at least 150 rushing yards.

Hodges-Tomlinson helped secure a road win at Texas Tech with four tackles and an interception. He collected his second interception of the season, which he took to the house from 29 yards out to give TCU a Pick-6 for the first time since the Kansas game last year. All four of his tackles were solo as he has now totaled four solo tackles or more in four of five games this season.

Brkic tied single-game school records for points by a kicker (17) and field goals (four) in Oklahoma's win over Texas. He made all four of his field goal attempts and all five of his PAT tries. His field goal conversions from 40, 35, 29 and 26 yards helped the Sooners chip away at UT's advantage as he became only the second OU kicker to make four field goals in a game vs. the Longhorns. Brkic, who also handled all 11 of OU's kickoffs, is now 15 for 17 (.882) on field goals this season and has made all 23 of his PAT tries. His 15 field goal makes lead the nation. The junior has made at least two field goals in 11 of OU's last 13 games dating back to last season.

Backup freshman quarterback Williams accounted for 300 total yards and three touchdowns while commanding Oklahoma to its comeback win. OU outscored the Longhorns 38-13 from the time he took over QB duties late in the second quarter (when OU trailed 35-17) and scored on seven of nine possessions through the end of the game. Williams threw for 212 yards (16-of-25) with two touchdowns and rushed for 88 yards on four carries. His 300 yards of total offense were the most by an OU true freshman against Texas in series history. He entered for a 4th-and-inches play at the start of the second quarter and raced 66 yards for his second rushing TD of the season. With 1:02 left in the third quarter, he found Marvin Mims for a 14-yard strike and his first career passing touchdown. He hit Mims again on a 52-yard play that tied the game at 41 after OU's successful two-point conversion. Williams' 66-yard touchdown was OU's longest rushing play of the season and its third-longest rushing TD a by quarterback against Texas.
