At least one question has been answered heading into the season opener for Notre Dame Football. Head coach Brian Kelly has named graduate transfer Jack Coan the starting quarterback for the Irish.
Coan, who transferred to Notre Dame following three seasons at Wisconsin, experienced injury issues that allowed Graham Mertz to secure Wisconsin's top quarterback spot.
Now the former teammates will square off as opposing quarterbacks on Sept. 25 when Notre Dame faces the Wisconsin Badgers at Soldier Field in Chicago.
