The dog days of summer are beginning to set in, but don't let that get you down. Because we're continuing our summer series here on BCSNN with a focus on concept uniforms.

Why concept uniforms? Because people like to see something a little different from time to time - and boy are these different... kind of.

We got the big logo out of the way, but what about the gradient? Second only to the big logo in every generic concept helmet article, the gradient appears here in front of the beautiful mountains of West Virginia. Little known fact, the mountains are actually where the name of the mascot, "Mountaineers" comes from. You can share that with your kids - free of charge.

A little coonskin goes a long way. That's something no one's ever told me and I'm passing the knowledge on to you. Not only does this helmet feature coonskin, but it has a lot. Look at it. It's practically everywhere. Another little known tidbit that I'll leave you with today, "coonskin" is named as such because it's skin from an animal called a raccoon. Now they dropped the "rac" part from it to save time.

Big logos, gradients, coonskins, and a little bit of togetherness. That's what I got out of this. How about you? Let us know in the comments.
