KC Concepcion can add another honor to his growing list of accolades, as the sophomore wide receiver was named the ACC Receiver of the Week for his performance against Western Carolina, the league announced.
Concepcion led the Wolfpack to a 38-21 victory over the Catamounts, where he hauled in nine receptions for 121 yards and three touchdowns.
One game into his sophomore campaign, he's already tied the single-game record for TD catches by a sophomore, tying Jerricho Cotchery, Koren Robinson, and Tramain Hall. Concepcion hasn't scored a single touchdown in a game in his career. However, he's now pulled down multiple touchdown receptions in six of his 14 career contests - with a pair of TD catches in five games last season and three in the season opener of 2024. His 10 scoring grabs set a single-season freshman record last season.
Only one other player in school history has had more multi-receiving TD games than Concepcion's six (Torry Holt had seven from 1995-98).
Concepcion has had at least seven catches, two TDs, and 120 yards in two of his last three games (7-131-2 vs. UNC last season and 9-121-3 vs. WCU in the opener). Per ESPN, out of all the other receivers in the ACC, only two have turned in those numbers in a single game since the beginning of last season (Keon Coleman, FSU, and Malik Washington, UVa).
This is Concepcion's fourth ACC weekly honor, dating back to last season. Concepcion and the Wolfpack are now preparing for its matchup with Tennessee on Saturday, Sept. 7th, at 7:30 pm from Charlotte and U.S. Bank Stadium.
