CJ Baxter ran 16 yards for a touchdown with 5:37 left in the fourth quarter and the Longhorns took down Houston 31-24 on Saturday.
Quinn Ewers completed 23-of-29 passes for 211 yards and two touchdowns. Jonathon Brooks ran 20 times for 99 yards. Xavier Worthy caught six balls for 92 yards and a touchdown for Texas.

• The Longhorns first drive of the game went 75 yards on 11 plays and ended with a 14-yard strike from Quinn Ewers to Adonai Mitchell for the touchdown.
• Ewers completed a 42-yard pass to Xavier Worthy on the Horns second possession to increase their lead to 14-0. It was Worthy's eighth career touchdown catch of 40+ yards and third this season.
• Savion Red ran in it from one yard out for the touchdown to put Texas up 21-0.
• After Houston scored 21 straight points Texas added a 25-yard field goal from Bert Auburn to go up 24-21 with 3:17 to play in the third quarter. Texas converted a 3rd and 13 and 4th and 2 on the drive. The Longhorns got possession after a Houston fumble.
• With Houston driving at the Texas 28-yard line Michael Taaffe intercepted Donovan Smith in the end zone to give the Longhorns possession.
• CJ Baxter ran it in from 16 yards out to put the Longhorns up 31-24 with 5:37 to go in the fourth quarter. The drive covered 53 yards over six plays.
