The No. 15-ranked University of Michigan men's basketball team defeated Nebraska in its lowest scoring total of the season, earning a 49-46 win at Pinnacle Bank Arena.

Leaders and Best

Roddy Gayle Jr. led Michigan with 12 points and five rebounds. Tre Donaldson added 11 points, eight rebounds, and four assists. Danny Wolf recorded his 12th double-double of the season with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

Second Half

Will Tschetter opened second-half scoring with a three-pointer for Michigan , with the Wolverines and Nebraska (17-11, 7-10 Big Ten) trading baskets over the next five minutes. After a four-minute scoring drought, Donaldson broke through with a three-pointer and a jumper at the 11:51 mark.

Michigan's next five-minute drought ended with a Wolf three-pointer that gave the Wolverines a one-point lead with six minutes remaining. U-M then scored eight unanswered points, capped by an L.J. Cason three-pointer to build a six-point advantage with 4:25 left.

Despite missing their final four field goals, the Wolverines maintained a one-point lead with 1:36 to play after a Nebraska three-pointer. Michigan secured a crucial offensive rebound with 22 seconds remaining, sending Gayle Jr. to the line for two free throws to extend the lead to three. After both teams traded free throws, Nebraska had a final possession with four seconds left but missed a potential game-tying three-pointer.

Michigan shot 5-for-27 (18.5 percent) from beyond the arc, with four of those makes coming in the second half. Nebraska finished 6-for-28 (21.4 percent) from three-point range. The Wolverines outrebounded the Cornhuskers 50-43 but committed 14 turnovers that led to 10 Nebraska points.

First Half

Vladislav Goldin scored six of Michigan's first eight points, matching Nebraska's early output led entirely by Brice Williams, who scored the Cornhuskers' first 11 points. The Wolverines held Nebraska scoreless for nearly five minutes but failed to extend their lead beyond three points, leading 14-11 with 11 minutes remaining.

Michigan experienced a three-minute scoring drought, allowing Nebraska to regain a one-point lead at the 9:28 mark before Wolf connected on U-M's first — and only — three-pointer of the half. Both teams traded misses over the next two minutes, with Nebraska going nearly seven minutes without a field goal.

Gayle Jr. scored a jumper and converted two free throws late in the half to give Michigan a four-point lead at the break, 25-21. No Michigan player reached double figures in the first half, while Williams accounted for 18 of Nebraska's 21 first-half points. Michigan shot 11-for-33 (33.3 percent) compared to Nebraska's 8-for-32 (25 percent).
