TCU men's basketball guard Frankie Collins has been ruled out for the remainder of the 2024-25 season due to a stress fracture in his left foot.

The injury occurred during TCU's loss to Vanderbilt on December 8, 20242. Collins, who transferred from Arizona State, was leading the Horned Frogs in scoring with 11.2 points per game, assists with 4.4 per game, and steals with 1.9 per game. His absence is a significant blow to the team as they navigate the challenging Big 12.

In response to Collins' injury, the Frogs will rely more heavily on Old Dominion transfer Vasean Allette and Noah Reynolds. Allette has started two games this season, averaging 9.4 points, 3.1 rebounds, and 2.1 assists, while Reynolds is averaging 3.4 assists per game.

The coaching staff is also considering lifting the redshirt status of guards Ashton Simmons and RJ Jones to bolster the lineup.

Collins' injury will likely result in him receiving a medical redshirt, allowing him to retain an additional year of eligibility. This means he could potentially return to play for TCU next season, providing a much-needed boost to the team's roster. For now, the focus will be on developing younger players like Micah Robinson and Jace Posey to fill the void left by Collins.
