Kennesaw State’s Simeon Cottle and Jamil Miller earned Conference USA Men’s Basketball weekly honors. The 2024-25 Players of the Week are voted on by the league’s sports information directors.
CUSA Player of the Week – Simeon Cottle, Kennesaw State – Jr. – G – College Park, Ga.
Cottle earns Player of the Week recognition after leading the Owls (5-1) to a 2-0 week, including a historic win over No. 24 Rutgers, 79-77. The junior guard averaged a team-best 18.5 points, 3.5 assists and 3.0 rebounds per game. In the 84-78 win over Abilene Christian, he went for 22 points with four assists and a perfect 10-10 from the charity stripe. It marks his third 20-point effort this season. Cottle followed that with 15 points and three triples in their upset win over No. 24 Rutgers.
CUSA Freshman of the Week – Jamil Miller, Kennesaw State – Fr. – G – Spokane, Wash.
Miller becomes the second Owl to boast Freshman of the Week honors after averaging 16.5 points, 8.5 rebounds and shooting a remarkable 85 percent from the floor. Against Abilene Christian, the freshman from Spokane, Wash., finished with a career-high 17 points while grabbing seven boards. In the triumph over No. 24 Rutgers, Miller recorded his first career double-double with 16 points and a career-best 10 rebounds.
