Texas’ Tyrese Hunter and Texas Tech’s Darrion Williams claimed the final Big 12 men’s basketball awards of the season. Hunter and Williams shared Player of the Week while Williams was also named Newcomer of the Week. Both collected their first career award.

During UT's contests last week, Hunter averaged 21.0 points, 5.0 assists and 3.0 steals in 36.8 minutes per game. He converted 50-percent (13-26) from the floor, including a 5-of-11 (.455) mark from three-point range, and a perfect 11-of-11 free throws during the two contests. Against No. 11/11 Baylor, the junior guard posted 12 points, three assists and three steals in 36 minutes. During Saturday's victory over Oklahoma, he set his collegiate career high in scoring with 30 points while adding seven assists and three steals in 37 minutes. Hunter tied his career high in field goals made (9-13) and free throws made (9-9) and tied his season high in assists. He is majoring in Kinesiology & Health: Physical Culture & Sports.
 
Williams averaged a double-double for the week and helped lead Texas Tech to a pair of wins over Oklahoma State and No. 11/11 Baylor to finish the regular season. Against the Bears, the sophomore forward went for 16 points and 11 rebounds for his ninth double-double of the season after he had 18 points, nine rebounds and a career-high five steals in the road win at OSU. Williams was 6-for-7 from the field against Baylor for his 10th straight game scoring in double figures after he was 8-for-12 from the field with two 3-pointers against the Cowboys. The journalism student finished the regular season averaging 11.6 points and 7.6 rebounds per game.
