North Texas senior point guard Javion Hamlet was voted Conference USA First Team All-Conference and freshman guard Rubin Jones was voted to the league's five-man all-freshman team.

This is the second consecutive season the second-year guard Hamlet was voted first team all-conference. This season he averaged 15.5 points per conference game. He scored 30 points at Rice on Jan. 29 and 28 points at Marshall on Feb. 27. He had two double-doubles this season and had single-game career-highs in all major categories.

Hamlet was also one of the nation's top free throw shooters. All season he ranked in the top 20 in the nation and finished the regular season with a 89.2 percentage, which was the second-best single-season free throw percentage in program history.

Jones ranks in the top five among active C-USA freshmen in points per game, assists per game, 3-pointers per game and steals per game.

He scored a season-high 14 points at Mississippi State on Dec. 4 and a season-high six rebounds at No. 11 West Virginia on Dec. 11. He shot over 40 percent from 3-point range, which is the third-best 3-point field goal percentage by a UNT freshman.

Hamlet, who last season became the first Mean Green men's basketball player to be named Conference USA First Team All-Conference (UNT moved to C-USA in 2013), is the first UNT men's basketball player to earn multiple first team all-conference nods, regardless of conference, since Chris Davis earned his second First Team All-Sun Belt honor in 2003. Hamlet is the seventh North Texas men's basketball player to earn multiple first team all-conference honors.
