Dylan Disu has elected to return to The University of Texas Men's Basketball team as a super senior for the upcoming 2023-24 season. He made the announcement via his social media platforms.

"The show goes on!" Disu said in his post.

Disu was a huge factor during UT's postseason run to the NCAA Elite Eight this past year. In the team's five postseason games in which he was healthy (he only saw two minutes of action in the NCAA Sweet 16 win against Xavier and did not play in the NCAA Elite Eight game against Miami due to a bone bruise in his left foot), Disu averaged a team-best 17.8 points and team-high 9.0 rebounds in 25.8 minutes per contest while converting 72.2-percent (39-54) from the floor and 84.6-percent (11-13) from the free throw line.

In the NCAA Tournament First and Second Round victories against Colgate and Penn State, Disu averaged 22.5 points and 10.0 rebounds in 26.3 minutes per game while hitting 71.0-percent (22-31) from the floor. He registered a double-double with 17 points (8-11 FG) and a game-high 10 rebounds along with one blocked shot in 22 minutes against Colgate (Mar. 16). Disu tallied a season-high 28 points (14-20 FG), 10 rebounds, two steals and one assist in 31 minutes against Penn State (Mar. 18). He set the UT NCAA Tournament single-game record for most field goals made (14), topping the previous mark of 11 shared by Kevin Durant (2007), LaMarcus Aldridge (2006) and Albert Burditt (1994). His 28 points marked the highest single-game scoring output by a Longhorn in a NCAA tourney contest since Durant had 30 in a Round of 32 loss to USC in 2007.

Disu claimed Most Outstanding Player accolades at the Phillips 66 Big 12 Championship while leading the Longhorns to their second Big 12 postseason tourney crown in program history. During UT's three-game run to the title, he averaged a team-best 14.7 points and 8.3 rebounds in 25.5 minutes per game while hitting 73.9-percent (17-23) from the floor and 10-of-12 (.833) free throws over the three contests.

During the 2022-23 season, Disu played and started in 36 of the team's 38 games and led the squad and ranked second in the Big 12 in blocked shots (46 blocks, 1.3 bpg). He also ranked second on the team in rebounding (4.4 rpg) and fifth in scoring (8.8 ppg) in 19.0 minutes per game while converting 61.3-percent (133-217) from the floor and 77.8-percent (42-54) from the free throw line. Disu reached double figures in scoring 17 times, including a pair of 20-point efforts, and reached double digits in rebounds four times while posting three double-doubles last year.

Disu has played in 111 career games (84 starts) during his first four years of college at Vanderbilt and Texas. He has registered career totals of 908 points (8.2 ppg), 579 rebounds (5.2 rpg) and 118 blocked shots (1.1 bpg) in 2,370 minutes played (21.3 mpg). Disu has reached double figures in scoring 46 times, including four 20-point performances in his collegiate career. He has reached double digits in rebounds 19 times in his career and has tallied 15 career double-doubles.
