TCU men's basketball added Oklahoma State transfer Rondel Walker to the roster. Walker, who played the past two seasons for the Cowboys, will be eligible for the upcoming season at TCU.
The 6-5 guard averaged 4.8 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.1 assists last season. He had a season-high 18 points on four 3-pointers at Kansas State. He dished out a season-high five assists at Florida.
As a freshman during the 2020-21 season, Walker averaged 7.8 points, 2.9 rebounds and 1.0 assists and made seven starts. He had 12 double-digit scoring games and shot 33.0 percent from the 3-point line, which ranked second on the team. His 1.2 steals per game ranked 11th in the Big 12. His career-high 20 points came in a win at Iowa State, which included four 3-pointers.
The Midwest City, Okla., native played on the Texas Titans AAU squad alongside current Horned Frogs JaKobe Coles and Mike Miles and former No. 1 NBA Draft selection Cade Cunningham. He averaged 12.4 points, 4.3 rebounds, 3.0 assists and 1.4 steals per game on the 2019 EYBL circuit.
While at Putnum City West High School, Walker was a unanimous four-star talent and was No. 55 in the final ESPN Top-100 for 2020. As a senior, he averaged 25.8 points per game, while grabbing 5.1 rebounds and 3.2 assists and among numerous honors, earned the 2020 Jim Thorpe High School Player of the Year award from the Oklahoma Sports Hall of Fame.
