Corey McCrae has been named the newest member of Earl Grant's coaching staff at Boston College. McCrae comes to the Heights after a successful six-year stint at Delaware.

"Corey is a welcomed addition to our staff. We are extremely excited to have him join us as we work to move our program forward," Grant said. "He has a great basketball mind and has really developed this past decade while working for great coaches. Corey's ability to connect with and develop players will pay huge dividends for us. He has great relationships up and down the east coast, which will impact our recruiting."

This past season - under McCrae's tutelage - the Blue Hens won 22 games en route to capturing the 2022 CAA Championship and advancing to the NCAA Tournament. During his time at Delaware, McCrae was integral in developing three CAA Rookies of the Year and four CAA All-Rookie selections and was named one of the top five assistant coaches in the CAA in a poll conducted by Stadium.

Throughout his tenure at UD, McCrae played a vital role in the revitalization of the Blue Hens basketball program. In each of the first four seasons at Delaware, McCrae and the Blue Hens improved on the team's win total from the prior season. During his first year with the Blue Hens in 2016-17, McCrae helped Delaware nearly double its win total, posting 13 victories. The Blue Hens won 14 games in 2017-18 and finished with 17 wins in 2018-19.

In 2019-20, the Blue Hens recorded the eighth 20-win campaign in program history, opening the season 9-0 and finishing with 22 victories. That season, the Blue Hens earned a vote in the Associated Press Top 25 poll for the first time in two decades.

Prior to his time at Delaware, McCrae served as an assistant at his alma mater - national power DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Md. - for seven years (2009-16). He also served as head coach for the DC Assault and DC Premier teams in the AAU circuit from 2012 through 2014. McCrae also worked as an athletic trainer with ASM Sport Management in 2009 in Las Vegas, training professional athletes and enhancing players' skill sets in preparation for the upcoming NBA season.

McCrae began his collegiate playing career at Wagner from 2002-04, before playing his final two years at Fordham. He averaged 3.9 points as a junior and 5.7 points as a senior for the Rams, while serving as team captain during both seasons. He graduated with a business management degree from Fordham in 2006, earned the men's basketball program's Taco Poto Award for outstanding leadership in 2005.

McCrae and his wife, Mahoganey, have two children - their son, CJ, and daughter, Saige.
