Iowa State’s Izaiah Brockington collected his sixth Conference honor of the season as he earned his second-consecutive Big 12 Men’s Basketball Player of the Week. Texas’ Timmy Allen captured his first award as Newcomer of the Week. Brockington was dominant in leading the Cyclones to a pair of wins. He averaged 26.0 points, 6.5 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals, while shooting 55.6 percent from the floor (20-36) and 50 percent behind the arc (6-12). Against West Virginia, the senior guard recorded a career-high 35 points, making 14-of-22 shots and a career-best five 3-pointers on eight attempts. He scored 25 second-half points as ISU rallied from a 12-point deficit.  Brockington followed that performance with 17 points, eight rebounds and two assists against K-State, helping lift ISU to a fourth-straight win.
 
Allen led Texas to a pair of double-digit second-half comeback wins as he averaged 21.5 points, 8.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 1.5 steals in 34.7 minutes per game. He converted 66.7 percent from the floor (12-18) and hit 19-of-24 (.792) free throws in the two victories. In Wednesday's home win against TCU, Allen recorded 17 points (5-9 FG, 7-8 FT), seven rebounds (five offensive), two assists and two steals in 34 minutes. On Saturday at West Virginia, he paced the Longhorns with 26 points (7-9 FG, 12-16 FT), 10 rebounds (four offensive), three assists, two blocks and one steal in 36 minutes. The senior forward set season highs in scoring and free throws made and tied his season-high in blocks while recording his third double-double of the year. He posted 17 points (4-4 FG, 9-12 FT), seven boards and three assists while playing all 20 minutes in the second half.
