Jimmy Boeheim produced a season-high 27 points but Notre Dame (20-8, 13-4 ACC) prevailed, 79-69, in a home encounter with Syracuse (15-13, 9-8 ACC).

Jimmy Boeheim had a 15-point first half and a 20-point outing for the second straight contest. Buddy Boeheim added 20 points for the Orange.
 
Notre Dame's Nate Laszewski's five 3-point field goals and 17 total points guided the Fighting Irish to their victory.
 
HOW THE GAME WAS DECIDED
A 13-point unanswered stretch led by Notre Dame's Ryan Cormac with eight of the points, marked the final lead change of the contest and sealed the victory for the Fighting Irish with 12:15 remaining in the game.
 
SCORE IN KNOTS
Jimmy and Buddy Boeheim led the Orange to their first 10 points of the game. Despite 11 knots in the score and 13 lead changes, The Fighting Irish pulled away using three 3-point shots from Nate Laszewski throughout the half. Jimmy Boeheim paced the offense, keeping the Orange in the lead for 10:00 minutes with his second straight 15-point first half performance. The score at the end of the first 20 minutes was 42-38.
 
Any early three points beyond the arc from Notre Dame's Dane Goodwin lit a flame to ignite a 9-0 Syracuse run to take a 47-48 lead with 16:42 remaining in the second half. The Irish responded with an 13-0 stretch of their own to extend to a 60-48 advantage, the largest margin of the game. The Orange narrowed the score back to a two-point deficit with just over four minutes remaining but the Irish continued to extend their lead, capitalizing on opportunities at the line.

  • Jimmy Boeheim surpassed his season high points in a regulation and in an overtime game with his 27-point performance.
