Izaiah Brockington scored eight of his 14 points in the final three minutes, including a key four-point play to counter Texas Tech's first lead of the game with less than two minutes remaining, to aid No. 11 Iowa State (13-1, 1-1 Big 12) to a 51-47 win over No. 25 Texas Tech (10-3, 0-1 Big 12) Wednesday night in Hilton Coliseum.

The Cyclones won the game despite making just three field goals and shooting 15.0 pct. from the field in the second half, but Brockington's two late field goals were enough for ISU to record its third win over a ranked opponent on the year.

ISU, which erased its 24-game losing skid to Big 12 opponents and a five-game losing streak to TTU in the victory, also got 13 points from Aljaz Kunc, who made two treys and was 7-of-10 at the free-throw line.

Brockington also led the Cyclones on the boards (9) and had three assists.

The Cyclones opened up a 19-6 lead at the midway point of the first half thanks to a 15-2 run. Caleb Grill buried a pair of treys in the flurry to help ISU take the early lead.

ISU led at the break 30-19 when Kunc drilled a late shot clock desperation trey in the closing seconds of the first half.

ISU forged its first-half lead behind a 6-0 advantage in 3-pointers.

The Cyclones struggled mightily to score in the second half. ISU went nearly 10 minutes without a bucket until Gabe Kalscheur made a layup with 10:22 left in the game. Despite the drought, ISU still held a 34-26 lead.

ISU amazingly still led (40-36) with under four minutes remaining when Brockington recorded ISU's second field goal of the second half.

Six-straight points by the Red Raiders gave TTU its first lead at 42-40 with 2:18 remaining, but Brockington answered with the crucial four-point play.

ISU made its free-throws down the stretch to hang on for the win.
