Syracuse (6-5) made an emphatic return to the court after a 16-day gap between contests and defeated Brown (8-6), 93-62, in the Dome on Monday night.

National Player of the Year candidate Buddy Boeheim had a season-high 28 points, 18 of which came in the second half. Junior guard Joseph Girard III contributed 15 points, seven assists and five steals.

Bears' rookie Kino Lilly Jr. contributed a team-high 13 points in the loss.

HOW THE GAME WAS DECIDED
When the Bears tightened the gap to just six points after the opening 20 minutes, Syracuse answered after the break with a 23-6 run to start the second half. Buddy Boeheim had 14 points in the stretch that put the Orange ahead, 61-38, with 13:31 left. The Bears did not come within 20 points of the Orange for the rest of the contest.

BIG TRIPLES
Jimmy Boeheim opened the contest with a 3-pointer just 26 seconds into the matchup. The trend continued throughout the first five minutes with four of the five Orange starters making 3-pointers of their own. Both Boeheim brothers, Joseph Girard III and Cole Swider all contributed, giving Syracuse a 16-4 lead. The action remained close through the rest of the half. The Bears' Perry Cowan and Kino Lilly Jr. came up with two big 3-pointers near the end of the half to narrow the margin to 38-32 at the intermission.

The 3-point theme continued in the second half. Buddy Boeheim sunk a triple to open the scoring just eight seconds into the half. Syracuse's advantage eventually reached as many as 32 before the contest was decided.
