Student-athletes from Kansas, Oklahoma State and Texas Tech collected Big 12 honors for their performances in Week 13.

Oklahoma State’s Cade Cabbiness was tabbed the Big 12 Player of the Week, while Kansas left-hander Eli Davis earned Pitcher of the Week. Texas Tech freshman Cal Conley garnered Newcomer of the Week. A five-person media panel selects the honorees.

Cabbiness led OSU to three wins on the week, including a series victory over Baylor. He hit .538 (7-for-13) with two home runs, a double and seven RBIs. The senior hit safely in all four games, including a pair of multiple-hit efforts, to extend his hitting streak to eight games. He led the Big 12 on the week with six walks and was second in batting average, homers, RBIs, runs, total bases and on-base percentage. He went 3-for-5 with two homers and three RBIs to lead the Cowboys to an 8-7 win in the series opener against Baylor.

Davis pitched a complete-game, seven-inning no-hitter in game two of a doubleheader sweep over Kansas State. The sophomore left-hander tallied four strikeouts and allowed no hits and only two walks. It was only the sixth individual no-hitter in Kansas baseball history and eighth overall, while it was the first against a Big 12 opponent, and the first no-hitter at Hoglund Ballpark by a Jayhawk.

Conley homered in all three games of Tech's road series win at Oklahoma, including a grand slam Saturday. He led the Big 12 in home runs (3) and RBI (8) for the week, while he tied for second in the league in runs scored and total bases for the week. The freshman registered multi-hit efforts in 2-of-3 games. Conley added a three-run home run on Sunday to help Tech secure the series with a run-rule victory

All three of this week’s recipients are first-time honorees this season.
