Texas swept Big 12 baseball weekly awards after completing a perfect 5-0 week. A five-person media panel selects the honorees.

Ivan Melendez was tabbed the Big 12 Baseball Player of the Week, while Tristan Stevens was named Pitcher of the Week. Mike Antico was named the Newcomer of the Week.

Melendez homered in all five games played last week, batting .556 (10-of-18) with two doubles, six total homers and 16 RBIs. The Longhorn DH homered twice in the series finale against K-State to complete the sweep. Behind Melendez, Texas outscored opponents, 60-14. The sophomore has homered in six-straight games dating back to last Saturday's series finale at Kansas.
 
Stevens logged seven innings pitched and allowed just one run while only tossing 68 pitches against K-State. The righty issued no free passes and allowed just one run on eight hits. Stevens had only three two ball counts during the entire outing. It marked the fourth time this season that the junior did not allow a walk.

Antico hit .350 (7-of-20) with two doubles, one triple and two home runs with eight RBIs and seven runs scored in the series sweep over K-State. Five of his seven hits went for extra bases. The senior finished a perfect 4-for-4 on stolen bases to up his Big 12 leading total to 16. Antico slugged .850 for the week. In the series opener against K-State, he went 4-for-5 with five RBIs.

All of this week’s selections are first-time honorees for their respective awards.
