WKU Baseball completed its sweep of Marshall following an 8-1 victory on Sunday afternoon at Nick Denes Field.

The Hilltoppers used another strong performance from their pitching staff and their highest offensive output of the series to earn their fourth straight victory against The Herd.

"You just watch this game, and watch our team play this weekend, and they played extremely well," said head coach John Pawlowski. "It's very difficult to win four games in a conference weekend, let alone a three-day span. Hats off to them, they did a great job."

Luke Stofel opened the game on the mound in his second career start, earning the win after striking out three batters and allowing just three hits and one run in 5.0 frames. Ryan O'Connell entered in the sixth to relieve Stofel, picking up his first save of the season after tossing 4.0 frames of scoreless ball while recording four strikeouts.

On the weekend, WKU pitchers struck out 26 batters while only allowing four walks, and have now recorded 46 strikeouts to just five walks over the past eight games.

At the plate, the Hilltoppers racked up 11 hits and six walks, with three players producing multi-hit efforts. Jackson Gray led the way, hitting a perfect 3-for-3 while tallying a team-high three RBI, while Eric Riffe and Ray Zuberer III each added two hits apiece.
