Texas Baseball was eliminated from the NCAA College Station Regional with a 10-2 loss to Louisiana on Sunday at Blue Bell Park.

The Longhorns end their season with a 36-24 overall record and the second-most home runs in program history with 112.

Ace Whitehead pitched outstanding for 6 2/3 innings, scattering seven hits and allowing just two runs. He struck out six batters to finish one shy of his career high.

Kimble Schuessler went 2-for-4 at the plate to cap of a great NCAA Regional with seven total hits, including three doubles and a homer. Casey Borba made his first start of the postseason and went 2-for-3 with the only Longhorn run scored.

Louisiana opened the scoring in the second inning with a two-out RBI single. Whitehead was able to get a strikeout to limit the damage to just one run.

Texas got the run right back in the bottom of the second, with Will Gasparino hitting an RBI single to drive in Casey Borba. The Longhorns would have hoped for more but the second double play of the game ended the threat.

The Ragin' Cajuns retook the lead in the third inning with another two-out RBI single to go up 2-1.

The Longhorns had an opportunity to score in the fifth inning after a two-out walk to Jalin Flores and a single by Schuessler but they were left on base.  Texas got two more singles in the sixth inning but again failed to scratch out a run.

Louisiana tacked on several insurance runs in the eighth inning to put the game out of reach and end the Longhorns' season.

Texas scored a run in the eighth on an RBI single by Rylan Galvan to cut the lead to 9-2 and Louisiana scored one more run in the top of the ninth.
