TCU baseball junior pitcher Cam Brown has been named the Big 12 Pitcher of the Week. The honor is the second of the season for Brown and the fourth of the season for the Horned Frogs.
Brown tossed his first career complete-game shutout on Sunday against Kansas. He faced just two batters over the minimum. The first two Jayhawks reach in the first inning and they were the only two base runners stranded in the game as Brown faced the minimum 21 hitters the remainder of the game. A lead-off single in the sixth was erased on a double play. He finished the game with eight strikeouts and only two hits allowed.
Brown was previously honored on March 6. Also honored was Austin Davis (Player of the Week, Feb. 20) and Louis Rodriguez (Freshman of the Week, March 6).
TCU (15-9) enters the week riding a five game winning streak. The Horned Frogs hit the road for five straight starting Tuesday night at UT Arlington. First pitch is set for 6:30 p.m.
