In a vote by league coaches, the TCU baseball team was picked to finish first in the Big 12 Preseason Poll. The Horned Frogs, ranked as high as No. 14 in preseason polls, garnered five first place votes for a total of 61 points.
TCU has won each of the last two regular season titles.
Oklahoma State received four first place votes for a total of 59 points. Texas Tech with 48 points was picked to finish third followed by Texas (43), Oklahoma (38), West Virginia (28), Kansas State (17), Kansas (16) and Baylor (14).
Since joining the league in 2013, TCU has been picked no lower than fourth. Ten times the Frogs have been picked third or higher in the poll.
The Horned Frogs open fall practice Friday, Jan. 27. The 2023 campaign marks the second season under head coach Kirk Saarloos. TCU opens play on Feb. 17 at Globe Life Field in the Higginbotham College Baseball Showdown against No. 10 Vanderbilt.
