TCU scored four times in the sixth to erase a one-run deficit and held on for a 7-6 victory over Santa Clara Thursday night at Lupton Stadium. With the Thursday night results in the league play, TCU clinched at least a share of the Big 12 regular season title, the fourth in program history.

The Rundown
TCU opened the scoring in the second on a Gray Rodgers base knock for a 1-0 lead.

Santa Clara loaded the bases with one out in the fourth. Back-to-back singles had the Broncos in front 3-1.

The Horned Frogs quickly responded in the bottom of the inning, tying the game at three. Porter Brown worked a bases-loaded walk and an Elijah Nunez ground out brought home the tying run.

After Santa Clara retook the lead on a sacrifice fly in the sixth, TCU again had an answer in the next half inning. The Frogs sent 10 hitters to the plate and scored four times. A Nunez base hit tied the game and a bases-loaded walk to Brayden Taylor put the Frogs in front to stay. David Bishop grounded out and Kurtis Byrne worked another bases-loaded walk to extend the lead to three, 7-4.

The Broncos picked up solo runs in the eighth and ninth to account for the final score.

Cam Brown started and allowed three runs on two hits in 3 1/3 innings. He walked three and fanned two. Brett Walker (5-2) picked up the win in relief. He allowed two runs on five hits, walked one and struck out four. Luke Savage surrendered a run on one hit in two innings for the save.

Stat of the Game:
18 – The 2022 regular season title is the 18th in program history. TCU has claimed four in the Big 12.

• TCU stole multiple bases (3) for the 21st time this year.
• TCU drew double-digit walks (11) for the ninth time this season.
• Elijah Nunez has reached safely in nine straight games.
• Nunez tallied his fifth multi-RBI game of the season and the 10th of his career.
• Tommy Sacco has hit safely in 10 straight games and reached safely in 13 straight.
• Brayden Taylor, David Bishop and Gray Rodgers have reached safely in six straight.
• Luke Boyers stretched his hitting streak to eight games and his reached base streak to 21.
