TCU’s Luke Boyers (Co-Player), Oklahoma’s Brett Squires (Co-Player), Baylor’s Jake Jackson (Pitcher) and Texas Tech’s Owen Washburn (Newcomer) received Big 12 Baseball Weekly Honors, for games ending May 15, as picked by a five-person media panel.

Boyers hit .412 with eight RBI and six runs scored, helping TCU to a sweep of Kansas to keep the Horned Frogs in the Big 12 title race. Boyers had multiple hits in all three games of the series, including a 2-for-3 effort with two walks and four runs scored in Saturday’s victory over the Jayhawks. Boyers extended his on-base streak to a career-high 20 games, and has a seven-game hit streak. He posted an .824 slugging percentage with four extra-base hits on the week, holding a 1.324 OPS. It is Boyers’ first Big 12 Player of the Week honor.

Squires’ week was highlighted by a 4-for-4 performance in the series finale against West Virginia, capping a week where he was 6-for-8 with two extra base hits. He went 2-for-3 in the series opener with a two-run double, and had a pinch-hit RBI groundout during the ninth inning of Saturday’s game. He hit .750 with a 1.250 slugging percentage and a .700 on-base percentage as Oklahoma kept its Big 12 title hopes alive with a series win against the Mountaineers. It is Squires’ first Player of the Week selection.

Jackson threw a season-high 7.0 innings against Kansas State, allowing just a single run in the 4-2 Baylor victory. Jackson scattered six hits and walked just one batter, striking out three on the way to his fourth win of the season and his first Pitcher of the Week honor.

Washburn hit .400 in Texas Tech’s sweep of then-No. 3 Oklahoma State, moving the Red Raiders into a tie atop the Big 12 standings. His grand slam in Saturday’s game put the exclamation point on a seven-run fifth in the 9-3 win. He had multi-hit games in the other two contests in the series, hitting two doubles in Friday’s 7-6 win and went 3-for-5 in Sunday’s 6-4 affair. For the week, he had a 1.200 OPS and drove in seven runs to earn his second Newcomer of the Week honor of the season.
