K-State's Dylan Phillips was voted to the 2022 Academic All-District First Team by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA), the organization announced.

Phillips, who boasted a 3.63 grade-point average, collects the first CoSIDA Academic All-District honor of his career. The fourth-year junior two-way star is set to graduate this weekend with his bachelor's degree in finance.

Phillips' honor marks the third straight year that a Wildcat has been named to the CoSIDA Academic All-District squad and the fourth player under fourth-year head coach Pete Hughes. A three-time Academic All-Big 12 pick, it is the first such honor in the career of Phillips.

Phillips adds to his career honor list that includes being named a preseason all-American, a Preseason All-Big 12 Team selection while being voted to the All-Big 12 Second Team a season ago. He was tabbed Big 12 Player of the Week this season on April 5 after breaking K-State's all-time career home run record.

In four seasons, the Omaha, Nebraska, native has compiled 43 career homers – breaking the previous record of 37 by Scott Poepard that had stood since 1997. He is currently tied for eighth on the all-time career extra-base hits chart with 81.

This season, Phillips leads the Cats with 12 home runs to go with 11 doubles, 38 runs batted in, eight steals and a .292 average. Additionally, the lefty has made a career-high nine relief appearances with a 2.89 earned run average while collecting a team-leading four saves.

He is one of two players in the Big 12 to register at least 10 home runs and record multiple saves this season.

First Team Academic All-District honorees advance to the CoSIDA Academic All-America ballot. First-, second- and third-team Academic All-America honorees will be announced in June.
