Texas Football came up short, 31-24, at No. 16/18 Baylor on Saturday at McLane Stadium. Casey Thompson passed for 280 yards and two touchdowns in the loss.
KEY STATISTICS:
- The Longhorn defense made a big play early in the game, with B.J. Foster intercepting the second pass of the game and returning it to the Baylor 31-yard line.
- Texas scored four plays after the interception when Casey Thompson connected with Joshua Moore for a 10-yard touchdown pass.
- Baylor scored the next 10 points to grab its first lead of the game, 10-7, late in the first quarter.
- The Longhorns quickly retook the lead with a 63-yard strike from Thompson to Xavier Worthy in the final seconds of the first quarter.
- Texas opened the second half with a 75-yard touchdown drive that took 6:11 off the clock. Bijan Robinson capped off that drive with 1-yard TD run to make the score 20-10
- Baylor would then score the next 21 points, including 14 in the fourth quarter, to take control of the game.
- Cameron Dicker kicked a 27-yard field goal with 4:40 left in the game to trim the lead to 31-24.
