Oregon State meets up with Florida in the 2022 SRS Distribution Las Vegas Bowl Saturday at Allegiant Stadium. Kickoff is slated for 11:30 a.m. PT, with the Beavers playing as the home team in the neutral-site matchup.
Oregon State Notables
- The Beavers have won nine games for the first time since 2012 and are looking for their 10th win for just the third time in school history. The 2000 Beavers - quarterbacked by head coach Jonathan Smith - went 11-1 and the 2006 team finished 10-4.
- Oregon State is 6-1 in its last seven games, and has held opponents to an average of 17.3 points and 331.0 yards per game over that stretch. Both marks are best in the Pac-12 Conference.
- OSU is playing in its 19th bowl game. The Beavers are 11-7 in the previous 18.

Bowl History
- Oregon State has advanced to a bowl game for the second consecutive season and 19th all-time.
- The Beavers are 11-7 in the previous 18 games, winning five straight from 2003 to 2008.
- Included in that win streak was a 55-14 victory over New Mexico in the 2003 Las Vegas Bowl. The game marked the last in Steven Jackson's career as a Beaver and he proceeded to rush for 149 yards and four touchdowns, in addition to five catches for 51 yards and one score. - =- - Jackson scored three of his five touchdowns in the first half as OSU led 31-7 at the break.
- The Beavers held New Mexico to 127 yards in the win.
- The Beavers' 41-point victory is the largest in the history of the Las Vegas Bowl.
- OSU also played in the 2009 Maaco Bowl Las Vegas, losing 44-20 to BYU. Damola Adeniji caught eight passes for 106 yards and one score.
Versus Florida

- Oregon State was 14th in the final College Football Playoff rankings.
- The Beavers are also 16th in the AFCA Coaches Poll and 17th in the Associated Press Top 25 entering the bowl season.
- The Beavers found themselves ranked by the AP in five different weeks. All five came in the final six polls.
- Oregon State, meanwhile, found itself in the last three AFCA Coaches Polls.
- The Beavers were ranked by the AP for the first time since 2013 and by the coaches since the conclusion of the 2012 season.
Going For 10
- Oregon State is looking to win its 10th game for the third time in program history and first since 2006.
- The 2000 Beavers, who were quarterbacked by current head coach Jonathan Smith, finished with an 11-1 record and 41-9 win over Notre Dame in the 2001 Fiesta Bowl. Oregon State's lone loss was to Washington, 33-30, in Seattle.
- Oregon State posted its second 10-win season in 2006, going 10-4. The Beavers finished the regular season with a 9-4 mark after defeating Hawai'i, 35-32, in the regular-season finale. OSU then scored 18 points in the fourth quarter in the 2006 Sun Bowl versus Missouri to come back from a 10-point deficit for a 39-38 victory. That represents Oregon State's largest second-half comeback in its bowl history.
Smith Earns Recognition
- Oregon State head coach Jonathan Smith was named the Co-Coach of the Year in the Pac-12, joining Washington's Kalen DeBoer. Smith is the first OSU coach to be honored since Mike Riley in 2008.
- Smith was also named the Region 5 Coach of the Year by the American Football Coaches Association (AFCA). He is the first Beaver coach to earn that honor since Riley in 2012.
Martinez Takes Offensive Honors
- Damien Martinez was named the Pac-12's Offensive Freshman Player of the Year. The Lewisville, Texas native rushed for 970 yards during the regular season.
- He is the first Beaver with that honor since Jermar Jefferson in 2018.
All-Conference Notes
- Oregon State had 19 players recognized in the Pac-12's coaches voting, including five first teamers, which are the most for the Beavers since the 2009 team had seven.
- OSU's 19 selections are the most ever for the Beavers, surpassing 2008's 18.
- OSU's first-team selections: AP/ST Jack Colletto, RS Anthony Gould, RB Damien Martinez, LB Omar Speights and DB Rejzohn Wright.
- Second-team selections: RS Silas Bolden, OL Taliese Fuaga, DB Jaydon Grant and OL Joshua Gray.
- Honorable-mention selections: DB Alex Austin, DB Ryan Cooper Jr., LB Kyrei Fisher-Morris, WR Tre'Shaun Harrison, OL Brandon Kipper, OL Jake Levengood, P Luke Loecher, DL Sione Lolohea, DB Kitan Oladapo and DL James Rawls.
- Oregon State's five first-team selections tied USC for the most in the conference. The Beavers' 19 overall selections are the most in the league.
- OSU also had seven players recognized by the Associated Press All-Pac-12.
- Oladapo was named first team by the AP. Martinez, Fuaga, Colletto, Grant, Speights and Wright were second-team selections.
The Jackhammer & The Hornung
- Jack Colletto was named the Hornung Award winner on Dec. 7, becoming the first Beaver to earn the honor and first player from the Pac-12 since Christian McCaffrey in 2015.
- Colletto, who won the fan vote, beat out Ohio State's Emeka Egbuka, Alabama's Jahmyr Gibbs and Clemson's Will Shipley for the honor.
- Colletto is the first FBS player to total at least 10 tackles, catch at least one pass, complete one pass and score one rushing touchdown since 2013.
- Defensively, Colletto has 23 tackles with one fumble recovery and one forced fumble. Offensively, he has rushed for 86 yards and six touchdowns on 25 carries. He has completed two passes for 53 yards while totaling three receptions for 46 yards.
Nine Surpasses '08
- Oregon State's players were named the Pac-12's Players of the Week nine times during the regular season, marking the most for the Beavers since the conference began weekly honors in 1983. That surpassed the 2008 Beavers who had eight.
- OSU's players were named Defensive Player of the Week four times, including twice by Kitan Oladapo. He's the first Beaver with multiple defensive honors since Greg Laybourn was recognized three times in 2008.
- It's also the first time OSU has had three different defensive players recognized in the same season as Alex Austin and Jaydon Grant joined Oladapo.
- Damien Martinez was named the Pac-12's Freshman of the Week three times while Cade Brownholtz was selected on special teams after the win over Oregon. Brandon Kipper was named the top offensive lineman after the season opener versus Boise State.
In Conference
- Oregon State finished Pac-12 play with a 6-3 record, which marked the team's most victories in conference action since the 2012 Beavers also went 6-3.
- OSU also finished with a 5-4 Pac-12 mark in 2021 giving the Beavers back-to-back winning records in conference play for the first time since 2008 (7-2) and 2009 (6-3).
