After leading the men's basketball team to win over the College of Charleston, Georgia State senior Corey Allen was named the Sun Belt Player of the Week on Tuesday.
Allen knocked down six 3-pointers and finished with a team-high tying 20 points as Georgia State topped the Cougars 72-55 last Monday night at the GSU Sports Arena.
Allen went 7-of-9 from the floor, including 6-of-7 from beyond the arc, while also pulling down six rebounds, swiping two steals and dishing out an assist in 29 minutes.
The win helped push the Panthers to 6-1, their third-best seven-game start to a season in program history. Georgia State has won four-straight games entering Sun Belt Conference play later this week.
For the season Allen is averaging 15.3 points and 4.3 rebounds per game. He has knocked down 27 3-pointers, the most of any player in the league. He is shooting 54.9 percent from the floor and 56.3 percent from beyond the arc this season.
On Monday Allen was also named the College Sports Madness Sun Belt Player of the Week.
Allen and the Panthers will return to action on Friday night facing Coastal Carolina at 6 p.m. The game can be seen on ESPN+.
